On 1 July 2024, the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) officially entered into force, marking a significant milestone in the EU-Kenya Strategic Partnership. The EPA is aimed at boosting trade in goods between Kenya and the European Union (EU) as well as promoting mutual economic development.

The Public Benefits Organizations Act, 2013, has officially come into effect as of May 9, 2024, following Gazette Notice No. 78. This new legislation replaces the Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Act, 1990, and introduces significant changes to the registration process for organizations previously classified as non-governmental organizations in Kenya.

On 20 August 2024, the Supreme Court of Kenya ("SCoK") issued a ruling granting conservatory orders in favour of the government.
